The Anita Lofton Project The move an artist makes from punk beginnings to more complicated crafts is fascinating to hear. Anita Lofton makes the trek with The Anita Lofton Project. The talented guitarist and singer-songwriter of the punk trio Sistas In The Pit, toured China and Europe and took an infamous national tour supporting a certain James “Iggy Pop” Osterberg and the Stooges during that band’s reunion in 200r. The Anita Lofton Project was established over 13 years ago, illustrating an energy and Bay Area based bounty of styles, and rich instrumentation that stretches from current day fascinations to vintage rhythm and blues rock traditions.

Easy Queen : three fierce, feminist, funny folx forging fabulously funky rock.FOR REAL. The Oakland, CA-based trio reflects the Bay Area’s energy, diversity, queer community, and creativity. Fans of Sleater-Kinney, St. Vincent, Portishead, and Juliana Hatfield will love Easy Queen’s blend of grunge-y hooks, shoegaze-y guitar delay, and pop-y vocal harmonies. EQ’s distinctive songs reflect a blend of sad-bastard songs, sultry guitar solos, playing in the pocket, and gettin’ outta town. On the dusty road between PJ Harvey and Portishead, you’ll find Easy Queen singing in harmony, grooving hard, and making love to their audience. The band lists influences as wide-ranging as Sonic Youth, The Breeders, White Stripes, Pedro the Lion, John Cage, Neil Young, Jeff Buckley, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Tricky, and TW Walsh. Easy Queen has built a steady following in the Bay Area, playing venues such as the Dyke March Stage, Ashkenaz, Ivy Room, and El Rio. The band created a much-loved video performance of their new song “This Not That” for the NPR Tiny Desk Contest – featuring bassist Veronica delivering a fierce spoken-word performance over Audrey’s Blondie-esque guitar riffs and Genesis’ tight drum beat. They created two-more DIY videos for "This Not That," and for a witty and grunge-powered cover of "The Grinch." The group recorded their debut EP with the aid of producer Stephen Hart (Santana, David Bowie), followed by a Pacific Northwest Tour. Easy Queen teamed up with local rocker Katie Cash to play a series of shows from Oakland to Portland to Seattle. Experience the magical, sensual, infectious rock-n-roll of Easy Queen!

HUTCH HARRIS + AUDREY HOWARD + S.R. LAWS

The Golden Bull, 412 14th St. , Oakland, CA

HUTCH HARRIS was the lead singer and primary songwriter of post-pop-punk legends The Thermals (2002-2017.) In fifteen years the band released seven LPs on the labels Sub Pop, Kill Rock Stars and Saddle Creek. In 2019 Harris released his solo debut LP Only Water, an introspective and meditative collection of songs exploring love and loss. Harris recently released his second solo LP Suck Up All the Oxygen.

AUDREY HOWARD is an indie-rock-folk-singer-songwriter audio engineer living in the Bay Area, CA.

S.R. LAWS is an American singer/songwriter, musician and recording artist from Northern California. Inspired by storytellers like John Hiatt, Rodney Crowell and Chuck Prophet filtered through early life experiences wandering the train tracks through wheat fields and smelling the fruit ripening in the orchards in his hometown.

S.R. cut his teeth as a songwriter in Austin, Texas. The “live music capitol of the world” and a thriving music scene yielded a bounty of musical and life experiences like no other. Each passing season allows provisions of a burgeoning sound peppered with wry attitudes and energetic rhythms to develop “lyrical pictures,” showing the humanness in the common walks of life. It is through heartfelt performances that allow him and the characters in his songs to “break the ice” with any toe-tapping crowd.

You can find him performing all over California and with his band The Heartsleeves.

His new release “A.M. Sessions” is out now and available at his live shows and on all platforms!

Katie Cash

While leading, composing, producing and performing in her solo outfit, Cash also shares lead vocal and guitar duties in Oakland-based bands Year of the Fist & Skip the Needle, gliding between punk rock and rock-n-soul with graceful authenticity her fans have come to love.

The She's, Easy Queen, Gina Villalobos, Amee Chapman

Ivy Room , 860 San Pablo Ave, Albany, CA 94706

THE SHE'S San Francisco's favorite all female garage rippers. Mixing reverb-drenched jangly guitars with sun-soaked harmonies reminiscent of 60’s pop and surf bands, along with a plethora of influences from more fuzzed-out contemporary artists, The She’s have crafted a sound replete with emotion and sound: sometimes happy-go-lucky, sometimes gloomy/melancholy, all around brilliant; a testament to the city they were born and raised in.

EASY QUEEN EQ's distinctive songs reflect a blend of sad bastard songs, singing in harmony, long delay guitar solos, playing in the pocket, and gettin'outta town. On the dusty road between PJ Harvey and Portishead, you'll find Easy Queen singing in harmony, grooving hard, and making love to their audience.

GINA VILLALOBOS “Purveyors of the four-minute popular song usually stick to cataloging one emotion. Gina Villalobos' compositions are not quite so simple, coming off the speakers like holographic Cracker Jack surprises that reveal a new depth with the slightest shift in light. Days On Their Side (Face West Records) finds her taking the Lucinda Williams model to a new level. (And it’s about time someone did.) -AMERICAN SONGWRITER MAGAZINE

AMEE CHAPMAN "... Proud daughter of a California that has gone astray, Chapman's working-class background and her respect for the state's oft-forgotten rural denizens mark her as a songwriter with a distinctive voice. Chapman shows a refreshing willingness to push musical boundaries, referencing muscular rock & roll, the expansive sonic textures of Wilco and the faded beauty associated with her pal Jolie Holland's torch songs. Chapman is a brave artist who appears to be poised for bigger things." -SANTA CRUZ WEEKLY.
